How big a file can I send?
It depends on your account type. As a guest with no email, you can upload up to 512 MB. Verify your email (it's free) and that jumps to 3 GB. With a Pro token, your limit is whatever size token you bought: Bite (20 GB), Slice (50 GB), Half (100 GB), or Whole (200 GB).
How long does a link stay live?
This also depends on your account type. Guest uploads expire after 12 hours. Verified uploads last 7 days. Pro token uploads stay live for 30 days by default, and you can extend them in 30-day blocks up to 120 extra days. Each extension uses one token.
What kind of files can I upload?
Everything except files that can run code on someone else's machine. Videos, photos, audio, documents, archives, and project files are all fine. We block executables, installers, and scripts (.exe, .msi, .app, .sh, and similar) to keep recipients safe. Folder uploads work too, up to 2,000 files at a time. For bigger jobs, zip the folder first. It uploads faster that way anyway.
What if my WiFi drops mid-upload?
PeerPie watches for your connection to come back and picks up where it stopped, on its own. If your browser closes or the connection drops for good, single-file uploads show a Resume button when you return, and they continue from the last piece that made it through. Folder uploads work differently: they're all-or-nothing, so if one file fails the whole batch cancels cleanly and your token comes straight back.
Are my files safe?
Yes. Your files are encrypted while they travel from your device to our storage, and they stay encrypted at rest on our servers. We never scan them or share them with anyone. You can add a password to any link for an extra layer, and we hash it so even we can't read it. When the link expires, the file is deleted.
Does PeerPie work on my phone?
Yes. PeerPie runs in your browser, so it works on iOS, Android, Windows, Mac, and Linux. There's no app to install and nothing is limited to one operating system. Just pick files from your camera roll or file manager and start uploading.
How do Pro tokens work?
Pro tokens exist so you never deal with a subscription. There are four sizes: Bite (20 GB), Slice (50 GB), Half (100 GB), and Whole (200 GB). Each token covers one upload, and you can buy as many as you want. Tokens stay in your account for 12 months, so if you buy one and don't use it for a month or two, that's fine. It's there when you need it and you're never charged monthly. When you upload, we pick the smallest token that fits so your bigger ones stay ready for bigger jobs.
Can I pause or cancel an upload?
Yes, both. Pause stops the transfer in about a second and everything freezes where it is. Hit Resume and you're moving again. Cancel closes the upload cleanly, and if you were using a token it comes back to you.
What if I cancel a Pro token upload?
Your token comes back. If you cancel while the upload is running, the refund is instant. If your browser crashes or your connection dies without a clean cancel, our system notices within about an hour and refunds it automatically. Either way, your Token Usage page shows the current status of every token you own.
